Resmi Joby, a native of South Indian state Kerala has started learning Indian classical dances at the age of 4 as part of culture and tradition. Her parents were avid art lovers and their enthusiasm and encouragement were the primary driver for her. She has endured the rigorous training over 14 yrs, unlike most others, under the Masters including famous Kalamandalam Sathyabhama, Kalamandalam Girija, Kalashetra Sugatha and Dr. Neena Prasad. They spotted her talent at an early stage and taught her Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Kuchipudi as well as folk dances. Subsequently she started performing in various stages in India and abroad where her father was employed in. She has won many prizes in art festivals in Kerala and abroad including the ’A’ grade dancer recognition by Government of Kerala in 1994.
Dance & Career
She moved to Tokyo accompanying her husband. Since then she was performing in various temples and Indian cultural festivals. Encouraged by her husband, she pursued her studies in Bharatanatyam and completed Masters in Dance along with expanding classes to other parts of Tokyo & online.She also won guinness World record in the year 2021 by participating in Natyanjali Malasiya 2021.
Apart from her dance career, she has a masters in Masters in Business Administration and has experience in teaching and in IT field renounced her Career to pursue her true passion and pass it down to the next generation.
To enrich and continuously improve her knowledge, She participated in many Workshops and Discussions at Prominent Dance Schools around the world.
